I saw it in the theater with a friend who was like you, Batman-obsessed, drew logos all over everything, and waiting in line on opening day. But I had zero interest in comics and knew virtually nothing about the Batman universe, so it was just a random movie for me, miles behind The Last Crusade, which came out a month earlier. I remember Jack Nicholson, the Batdance video, and not much else about it!
